- Aloe vera – The aloe vera plant contains the compound aloesin, which can inhibit tyrosinase activity in your system. This helps to regulate the production of melanin in your skin. Aloe vera also has certain anti-oxidant properties which gives you soft and flawless skin which is considerably light in color.
How to:
1.Slice an aloe vera leaf into half.
2.Scoop the gel that oozes out in a spoon.
3.Apply this gel to your skin four times a day.
4.Repeat this for a fortnight.
5.Reduce the frequency to twice a day, thrice a week.
- Raw papaya – The natural lightening properties in raw papaya comes from its astringent nature.
How to:
1.Apply raw papaya paste on your face and neck.
2.Leave on for about 15 minutes or till dry and wash off well with cold water.
3.You can also grate the raw papaya and squeeze out the juice.
4.Soak a cotton ball and apply on the face.
5.Leave for about 20 minutes and wash off.
- Lemon juice – it’s commonly known that lemon is a natural astringent and its juice has natural bleaching properties. If you wish to lighten skin tone, and tighten the skin pores to reduce sebum secretion, the natural acidic composition in lemon juice will bleach your skin to whiten it.
How to:
1.Dip a cotton ball in lemon juice and apply it on your face or dark skin elsewhere.
2.Leave on for about 20-30 minutes and wash off with cold water.
3.You can also make it simple by cutting a lemon in two halves. Rub one half gently on your face for about 10-15 minutes. Leave the juice on your face for another 10-15 minutes before washing it off.
4.For oily skin, make a face pack of lemon juice, rosewater and Fuller’s earth. Leave on your face for 15-20 minutes and wash off thoroughly.
5.If you have oily skin, mix lemon juice, honey and olive oil. Massage gently for a couple of minutes on your face and leave for 10-15 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water.
